Visit the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Monastery, a complex of monasteries, which is now in the UNESCO world heritage list. This incredible site is famed for the golden domes of the main cathedral. Lavra is also famous for its caves with ancient crypts, which you will explore during your visit. This is underground network of caves, that hide mummies of Saints.
This fascinating site was voted one of the 7 wonders of Kiev, and is absolutely a must-see for any visitor of Kyiv.
The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Monastery is the center of Christianity in the Ukraine. Founded by monks in the 11th century and laying on the picturesque Dnipro hills, the Monastery complex is a truly holy place for all Orthodox Christians in the Ukraine. It is home to many majestic churches built in the Byzantine and Baroque style. Within the monastery complex you will also discover many museums, including famous Museum of Miniatures (art works as small so you should look at them at microscope, like engraving on the pear seed or very famous iron-shod flea).

To visit churches: legs and shoulders should be covered by dress. Please, take a scarf or shawl to cover head according to Orthodox religious requirements (available on spot also).
20 min slow walk from Lavra in huge landscape park on Dnipro river hill you can see Mother Motherland statue, built in 1981 as part of World War II museum.
Did you know that Mother Motherland monument in Kyiv is higher that famous statue of Liberty in New York?
Height is 102 meters and weight 450 tons, to make it sculptors and engineers made 30 kilometers of welds
To fix 16-meters sword engineers made special system of anti-vibration dampers. And the statue itself can withstand an earthquake of up to 9 points.
There are 2 observation points: 36 and 91 meters.
For supplement you can enrich your #experience and to climb to #MotherMotherland observation platforms: 36,6 meters (by lift) or to 91 meters (by lift and climbing the wall ledder).
91 meters is on shield and only 2 visitors can go there at the same time, because it takes 45 minutes and it is really #adventure. But visit of highest observation point is wind- and weather-dependent, therefore closed in winter-time.
